About Us
Care Management that Counts
At a young age I started out volunteering as a “candy striper” for a local hospital taking patients to different floors for appointments, playing cards or just engaging in friendly conversations as a companion. It always made me feel good that I could take their mind off whatever problem they may have even for a short time.
During HS I wanted to be a nurse so after I graduated Merrimack College with BA in Psychology I went on to St Elizabeth’s school of Nursing to obtain a BS in Nursing and became an RN. The earlier years were spent in pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital where I gained much experience in med surgery with a concentration in orthopedics. I worked under some of the most renowned Doctors in the field.
After having my second son I decided to take some time to focus on motherhood. About that time my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimers and my mom was her primary caregiver. I began to see the need for strong advocacy in that area and when I came back to work I shifted my focus to geriatrics.
As a nurse with 25 years experience I began to seek further education and explore how to make my impact greater and at that time I became a GCM. Shortly after that Ohana Care Management was founded. The name has a special meaning, one for my birthplace Hawaii and the other it’s translation of “family” which encompasses the client and their support people.
In my free time I enjoy traveling with my family. Italy & Hawaii are my two favorite places to visit so far..
I also love playing with my 2 labs Lucy & Clifford. I am and always will be a Boston team sports fan & enjoy live games whenever possible. I try to stay active enjoying barre classes, boxing and walking.
I like a challenge, most recently learning Mahjong.
